Illegal horse medicine seized

Details of the illegal veterinary medicine seized by Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs NI (DAERA).

A package containing illegal veterinary medicines has been identified at a depot in Belfast destined for an address in County Fermanagh. The medicines had been imported from India and were detained and subsequently seized by an officer from DAERA.

The seized products were:

  • One box containing 100 syringes of Kick Ulcer Omeprazole Oral Paste for horses

This product is not authorised for use in GB or NI and was not accompanied by any relevant certification to permit their import.

The medicine was seized under Regulation 25 (Importation of unauthorised veterinary medicinal products) of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.
