Homeopathic Veterinary Medicines Seized

Homeopathic medicines from Germany seized at East Midlands Airport.

A package containing non-UK veterinary medicine was identified by a courier company based at a depot in the East Midlands.  

The package arrived from Germany containing medicine destined for a residential address in Ipswich.  

The medicine was detained and subsequently seized by an inspector from the VMD.

The following medicines, all manufactured by Heel in Germany, were seized:  

  • 1 x tub Zeel 500 tablets
  • 1 x tub Zeel LT  500 Tablets
  • 1 x tub Traumeel T ad us vet 500 Tablets

These products were intended for use in companion animals. The UK considers homeopathic products veterinary medicines. None of the products listed are authorised for use in GB or NI and they were not accompanied by any relevant certification to permit their import.

The medicines were seized under Regulation 25 (Importation of unauthorised veterinary medicinal products) of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.
