Guatemala and Honduras Chevening Scholars announced for 2026-27
Four scholars from Guatemala and Honduras have been selected for Chevening Scholarships and will begin master's studies in the UK this year.
The scholars were selected following a competitive application process. They will travel to the UK in the coming weeks to study subjects ranging from software development and engineering to environmental studies, and landscape architecture.
The 2026-27 Chevening scholars are:
- Leiry Seron (Honduras) – MSc Software Development
- Pablo Ramirez Letona (Guatemala) – MA Landscape Architecture
- Mayalitza Sosof Sisay (Guatemala) – MSc Environment, Culture and Society
- Dan Alvarez Ruano (Guatemala) – MSc Electronic and Electrical Engineering
British Ambassador to Guatemala and Honduras, Juliana Correa, said:
We are proud of this year’s Chevening scholars from Guatemala and Honduras as they prepare to begin their studies in the UK. They will join a global community of Chevening scholars and alumni, and we look forward to seeing the impact they will make in the years ahead.
The scholars were recognised during a farewell reception hosted by the British Embassy in Guatemala City. The event brought together Chevening alumni, family members and special guests to celebrate the scholars before they leave for the UK.
Chevening alumni are part of a global network of more than 60,000 professionals across government, business, academia and civil society.
