GCA’s Annual Conference pushes Code compliance

The GCA’s 2025 annual conference, held on 30 September, brought together suppliers and the designated retailers to tackle key issues facing the sector.

The Adjudicator, Mark White, explained how he is pushing for further improvements in compliance with the Groceries Code, reducing delays in payment and ensuring the retailers treat suppliers fairly when de-listing and forecasting. He explained his work with the retailers to improve buyer behaviour, manage cost price pressures and ensure effective communication of change programmes.

Suppliers heard that the GCA and the retailers want to work with them to resolve Code issues. The GCA and the retailers’ Code Compliance Officers maintain confidentiality and ensure there are no negative consequences for speaking up. You can find CCO contact details on the GCA website.
