Speaking earlier today, the Foreign Secretary, William Hague, said:

I welcome the approval today by Tunisia’s Constituent Assembly of a new coalition Government in Tunisia. We look forward to working with the new administration to strengthen the deep relationship between our two countries across a range of areas of mutual interest.

The UK will continue to encourage the process of democratisation in Tunisia, offering support to the Tunisian people through our own Arab Partnership programme and through the EU and G8, to help tackle the political and economic challenges that they face.
