Foreign Secretary William Hague discussed the strategic partnership between the UK and Mongolia when he met President Tsakhia Elbegdorj of Mongolia in London.
Following the meeting Foreign Secretary said:
“I would like to congratulate Mongolia on its recent successful parliamentary elections. The UK is looking forward to working with the new government. Growing trade between our two countries and Mongolia’s contribution to peacekeeping forces in Afghanistan and South Sudan show the strengthening of our ties. Next year we will celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations and long may it continue.”
