Foreign Office Minister expresses regret at loss of life and urges restraint.

Foreign Office Minister Alistair Burt speaks about demonstrations in Tunisia over the weekend which resulted in the loss of at least 14 lives

Alistair Burt said:

“We are following the situation in Tunisia closely, and regret the loss of life that has taken place. The UK supports the right to peaceful protest and calls on all those involved in the recent violence to exercise restraint. We hope that all sides will work calmly together to avoid further violence and to resolve the underlying issues.”
