Foreign Office Minister condemns mosque burning in the West Bank

Minister for the Middle East Alistair Burt condemned the attack on a Palestinian Mosque on Tuesday in the West Bank.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Speaking today, the Foreign Office Minister said:

“I am deeply concerned by reports of extremists burning and vandalising a Palestinian mosque in the West Bank village of Al-Mughayir on Tuesday. This appears to be the latest of a series of similar attacks aimed at exacerbating tensions and preventing progress in the peace process. I note the Israeli government’s condemnation of this attack, and like them I condemn this provocative crime. I call on the Israeli authorities to investigate the incident fully and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.”
