The Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said:

I extend my warmest congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the occasion of his award of the distinguished title of ‘Global Humanitarian Leader’ by United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon. Today’s honour recognises the significant international leadership and generous support demonstrated by His Highness and the State of Kuwait to address critical humanitarian crises around the world.
