Foreign and Commonwealth Office condemns break-in at Syrian Embassy in London

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office condemns the actions of protestors who broke into the Syrian Embassy in London on 4 February.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesperson said:

“The Foreign and Commonwealth Office condemns the actions of protestors who broke into the Syrian Embassy in London in the early hours of 4 February.

“The UK takes seriously its obligations to protect the staff and premises of foreign states in the UK. The FCO commends the swift action of the Metropolitan Police who have arrested a number of the protestors involved in the break-in.

“The Metropolitan Police are reviewing security arrangements at the Syrian Embassy and will take appropriate action to ensure the safety of the building.”
