EU standards and Ukraine’s regional policy: expert talk for media

The meaning of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement for the regional development of Ukraine is going to be discussed by independent experts

On 6 November 2013, the British Embassy Kyiv invites journalists to the meeting on regional development with Mr Chris Kirby, Ms Ivana Kruzelova, and Mr. Kevin Prigmore.

During the talk, experts will speak on following issues:

  • how regional development works in the EU
  • what would the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, including Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, mean for Ukraine in the area of regional development
  • opportunities for the Ukrainian economy
  • the role of modernisation, innovation, fair competition and state aid

This event will continue the series of expert talks with the journalists on current EU support to Ukraine within a wider information campaign ‘Stronger together’.

The meeting will take place in the conference room of the British Embassy, 9 Desyatynna Street, 11:00 on Wednesday, 6 November. Prior accreditation is required at ukembinf@gmail.com, or at 044 490 36 65. The accreditation is open till 16:00 on Tuesday, 5 November. Translation into Ukrainian will be provided.

Mr Chris Kirby, UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, in now Resident Twinning Advisor of the project “Assistance to the Commission for Protection of Competition for State Aid Control” in Macedonia, Ms Ivana Kruzelova, independent expert, Czech Republic, is now expert of the Twinning project “Assistance to the Commission for Protection of Competition for State Aid Control” in Macedonia. Mr. Kevin Prigmore, independent expert, UK, was formerly Aid Management and Finance expert of the project “Budget Reform and Aid Management Support o the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine”.
