The British Embassy in Yerevan invites female citizens of Armenia aged 18 to 22 to enter a competition to be an Ambassador for a Day.
What is Ambassador For A Day
Have you ever wondered what the day-to-day work of an Ambassador is like? The British Embassy in Armenia is launching a competition which will give the winner a unique opportunity to shadow the Ambassador to Armenia and learn about the work of an Ambassador and the British Embassy team. Committed to women empowerment in Armenia, we are focusing our competition on women and girls aged 18-22.
Why you should enter this competition
Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and therefore also half of its potential. Today there are too few women in international diplomacy, including women from under-represented backgrounds, whether ethnic, religious, economic, or cultural, among others. Women are not equally represented in international diplomacy, domestic politics or in the areas of business.
This is why we are encouraging women to make their voices heard on topics that affect us all.
We encourage young students to become leaders and advocates for change by offering them an opportunity to experience diplomacy in action and to take a glimpse behind the scenes of the British Embassy in Yerevan.
Who can enter
You can enter this competition if you:
- are a female citizen of Armenia
- are aged 18 to 22 years old
- have good command of English
- are available to spend a full day of activities with the British Embassy staff on 14 March 2024
How to enter
To enter, submit a video of up to 2 minutes in English answering the following question: “What would you do if you were the Ambassador of the UK in Armenia?”
Important tips:
- we will be celebrating Women’s month together and this competition should highlight women’s roles. Please bear in mind that the topic for International Women’s Day 2024 is “Inspire Inclusion”
- creativity will be an important judging criteria
- the competition’s jury will be comprised of a diverse panel representing different backgrounds to ensure a fair and inclusive evaluation process

Then email your video and Ambassador For A Day participation form to Enquiries.Yerevan@fcdo.gov.uk before the end of 28 February 2024.

- competition winner contacted: 5 March
- competition winner publicly announced: 15 March
