Department of Health seeks non-executive directors for the Care Quality Commission
The Secretary of State for Health is seeking to appoint up to 5 non-executive directors to the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The CQC is the independent regulator of health and adult social care providers in England.
The non-executive directors will work alongside the chair to provide strong and effective support to the CQC in order to ensure it achieves its high-level objectives. One of the directors will also act as the chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate they have a track record of significant achievement throughout their career, at the most senior levels, and have the ability to use their skills and experience to benefit the work of the CQC. Candidates will have the personal credibility to command the confidence of the CQC’s key stakeholders and bring a new perspective to these major national roles.
Time and pay
Remuneration for the non-executive directors will be £7,883 per annum.
The director who will also act as Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee will receive remuneration of £13,137.
The time commitment for all roles is approximately 2 to 3 days per month.
The Secretary of State for Health determines the length of appointment, which will be for up to a maximum of 4 years.
