Consultation on the distribution of funding to local authorities

The Department of Health will need to allocate funding for four duties that will pass from the NHS and DH to local authorities, subject to the passage of the Health and Social Care Bill.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The Department is now asking for views from all stakeholders, including LINks, on options for distributing the additional funding to local authorities for local HealthWatch, NHS Complaints Advocacy, which is moving from the Department of Health, and PCT Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS), which is moving from the NHS.

We will look at allocation options for the Independent Mental Health Advocates prior to the 2013 settlement.

See consultation on allocation options for the distribution of additional funding to local authorities.

This consultation closed on 24 October 2011.
