On the occasion of Kuwait’s national and liberation days, British Ambassador Matthew Lodge would like to say a few congratulatory words on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government and the people of the United Kingdom:

“The relationship between Kuwait and the United Kingdom is a special one. The bond between our two countries has grown and evolved over more than 240 years. Since Kuwait’s Independence in 1961 we have stood together, as allies and friends do, to meet the challenges of the last half century. The world was a different place in 1961. While many things have changed, and our two countries have adjusted to a changing world, the bond between our nations has remained strong. The events of 25 years ago demonstrate what can be achieved when we work together in coalition and partnership. While today’s world is no less uncertain, I know, together, that we can continue to meet the challenges of the future as we have always done, in partnership. On the 55th Anniversary of Kuwait’s independence I would like to thank His Highness the Amir and the people of Kuwait for their enduring friendship. I look forward to the next 55 years.”

In celebration, The British Embassy will be closed on Thursday 25 February and Sunday 28 February, 2016. The embassy will resume its business on Monday, February 29, 2016. During this time, all British Embassy departments will be closed which includes Visa Services at the Visa Application Centre (VAC).
