Civil/crime news: pilot provider workshop events

Nottingham and Leeds are trialling a new approach to engagement with our providers on 4 and 5 June 2015.

A new way of engaging with providers is to be tried out in Nottingham and Leeds on 4 and 5 June 2015 with an interactive and practical focus on topics that are useful in day-to-day work.

Event sessions have been planned for both civil and crime providers. You are welcome to register for either event or both. Booking links are provided below.

Civil session

The following will be covered:

Client and Cost Management System (CCMS) – teams will be available before and after the main presentations. They will explain training materials and answer questions, covering all aspects of the process.

There will also be workshops on a number of areas, including tips for submitting:

  • applications
  • certificated claims
  • escape cases

Crime session

The following will be covered:

E-forms for submitting crime applications – there will be an opportunity to see a demonstration of the system and ask questions.

There will also be workshops on the following areas:

  • crime billing online
  • tips for submitting advocates’ graduated fee scheme (AGFS) claims
  • wider criminal justice system (CJS) efficiency programme and defence solicitor call centre (DSCC) developments
  • crime applications

Key information from these pilot events will be published on GOV.UK and signposted through Legal Aid Bulletin. This will include the presentation slides used on the day.

We will also be evaluating how well the workshops have worked. This will help to shape how we engage with you in future.
