The condolence book has been placed to allow Rwandan officials, diplomats and members of the public to express their condolences.

The British High Commission in Kigali has opened a book of condolence for the late Baroness Margaret Thatcher (1925–2013), who served as Prime Minister of the UK from 1979 to 1990. The condolence book has been placed at the main entrance of the High Commission, to allow Rwandan officials, diplomats and members of the public to express their condolences at the death of Lady Thatcher on 8 April 2013.

Lady Thatcher won three general elections in the UK, in 1979, 1983 and 1987.

She is remembered for her economic reforms, as well as her leadership during the Falklands War (1982) and her role in the downfall of communism in Eastern Europe. A funeral with military honours will be held for Lady Thatcher in London on 17 April.

The book of condolence at the British High Commission will remain open from 9 to 12 April, and members of the public are invited to sign it if they would like to register their condolences at the death of Lady Thatcher.
