The British Embassy Bangkok is funding an ActionAid project “Women’s Access to Justice under Emergency Decree”. The project aims to empower women living in the three conflict-affected southern provinces of Thailand and increase awareness and expertise on human rights protection, trauma healing, communications development and advocacy campaigns to enable them to assist women living in the affected areas.

As part of this project, ActionAid will mark International Women’s Day with a meeting on 21 March of stakeholders working on human rights and justice issues. The meeting aims to encourage long-term cooperation and links with local Women’s Human Rights Defenders. ActionAid will also launch a video documentary to disseminate information on local women’s human rights experiences, and look at how they can become agents of change.
