British Embassy is arranging assisted departure for UK Nationals

If you are a British National requiring assistance to leave Libya, you should contact the FCO now on +44 207 008 0000.

British nationals in Libya are strongly urged to leave immediately by commercial means.

The British Embassy is arranging an assisted departure for British Nationals. Places are limited and requests for travel will be strictly prioritised. The British Embassy in Tripoli will not be able to provide consular assistance after 4 August, after which date we plan temporarily to suspend operations.

If you are a British National requiring assistance to leave Libya, you should contact the FCO now on +44 207 008 0000.

  • a British national remaining in Libya and affected by events
  • concerned about a British national in Libya

You can contact the FCO by either:

  • completing an online registration form
  • texting Libya2014 to +447860010026

You’ll then receive a reply, please respond with your details. Text messages should be restricted to 160 characters. Reliability and cost of sending a text varies from country to country and is dependent on the networks within those countries
