Big Lottery Fund seeks senior appointees

The Big Lottery Fund (BIG), which distributes millions from the National Lottery to good causes, is recruiting for UK Chair and England Committee Chair.

The Big Lottery Fund (BIG), the body that distributes millions of pounds from the National Lottery to good causes, is recruiting for the senior posts of UK Chair and England Committee Chair.

The BIG UK Chair will work closely with the Chief Executive and the Executive Team to evolve the strategic direction of the Fund and ensure delivery of the Fund’s goals.

Responsibilities will include ensuring good governance arrangements across the Fund, advancing and protecting the reputation of BIG as an excellent distributor of cash to good causes, and producing and promoting a UK-wide strategic framework.

The England Committee Chair will take the lead on developing and delivering funding programmes that make a distinct contribution to BIG’s mission in England. Responsibilities will include leading the development of policy and programme responses to the priorities set by the Strategic Framework and relevant Policy Directions, and overseeing the effective and efficient distribution of BIG funding in England.

BIG is the largest single funder of the voluntary and community sector (VCS) having made grants of nearly £2bn to the sector since June 2004.
