Maintained schools, and others that must take part in the national curriculum assessments

If you are a maintained school or academy and must take part in the statutory national curriculum assessments, we email assessment updates to your school throughout the year. These updates give you essential information to help you complete actions on time and administer the key stages 1 and 2 tests and phonics screening check correctly.

Independent schools, and others that choose to take part in the national curriculum assessments

Independent schools and non-maintained special schools can opt to take part in the national curriculum tests. If you do, we will email assessment updates with information specific to you. These updates give you essential information to help you complete actions on time and administer the assessments correctly.

Assessment updates are sent to your school’s super user email address from the NCA tools website.
