Applications for 2017/18 Chevening Scholarships open in Belarus

Belarusians can apply for 2017/2018 Chevening Scholarships from 8 August until 8 November 2016.

2017/18 Chevening in Belarus

We encourage Belarusian professionals with strong academic background who demonstrate high leadership potential to apply for 2017/2018 Chevening Scholarships for a one-year Masters’ degree.

Chevening Scholarships are the UK Government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme was founded in 1983 and has now a global network of 46,000 alumni from over 160 countries and territories worldwide.

Scholarships are fully funded and offer an opportunity to study at any UK university, join a strong professional network of alumni from across the world and have a life-changing year discovering the UK.

Eligibility criteria

There are no age restrictions for Chevening Scholarships.

To qualify for a Scholarship, the applicant must:

  • be a citizen of Belarus and intend to return to Belarus for a minimum of two years after the award has ended;

  • have an undergraduate degree (bachelor or specialist) which is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK;

  • have at least two years’ work experience (including volunteering and internships);

  • apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from these choices by 13 July 2017;

  • meet the Chevening English language requirement by 13 July 2017.
