Horse Health Ltd, Southampton, Hampshire. Sarcoid Cleansing Salve, a product presented for use in the treatment of sarcoids in horses is being offered for sale on the UK market without a marketing authorisation. The VMD has requested that the company remove all claims presenting the product for use in the treatment of sarcoids including amending the product name. The company has failed to respond in a satisfactory manner to ensure the product is marketed in accordance with the Regulations.
Improvement required is for all marketing of Sarcoid Cleansing Salve to cease until such time as the product has either obtained a marketing authorisation or all the product material has been amended so that it is no longer presented for the treatment of an adverse health condition.
