Acting UK Head of Mission in Libya announced
Michael Aron, formerly Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Iraq, will be temporarily replacing Sir Dominic Asquith as Acting Head of Mission in Libya.
Sir Dominic has had to extend a routine break from Libya for medical treatment. We wish him a speedy recovery. The temporary appointment of Michael Aron, a senior Ambassador with significant experience in the region, will give further support to our diplomats already there and ensure that HMG’s efforts to provide full support and assistance to the new Libyan government are carried through.
