Responsibilities

Ministerial responsibilities within the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs changed following the ministerial appointments on 7 October 2013

The minister is responsible for the natural environment and fisheries in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Responsibilities include:

  • natural environment and biodiversity
  • fisheries
  • flooding and water, coastal erosion
  • national parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty
  • access and rights of way
  • land management and soil
  • marine environment and inland waterways
