Consultation description

On 21 March 2013, Environment Minister Richard Benyon announced the start of the Triennial Review of the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC). This follows a period of discussion with JNCC and informal engagement with stakeholders, which started in December 2012. Preliminary conclusions will be available in early summer 2013. Because JNCC is a UK body the Review will be taken forward as a joint review with the Devolved Administrations.

Anyone with an interest in the JNCC is invited to respond to Defra and the Devolved Administrations’ Discussion Document by 11 April 2013.

This is part of Government’s rolling programme of triennial reviews of public bodies, to consider whether the functions carried out by the body are still required and whether the delivery model is right and offers value for money.

How to respond

Responses can be sent to Defra by email to JNCCreview@defra.gsi.gov.uk, or you can write to:

Triennial Review Team, Defra, Area 6D Nobel House, 17 Smith Square, London, SW1P 3JR
