Consultation description

Every child in England should have the opportunity to succeed, no matter their background. Our school system will drive high and rising standards, across every school and for every child, breaking down barriers to opportunity.

This requires an accountability system that sets clear expectations, encourages improvement, and spreads excellence.

We are seeking views on:

  • school accountability principles
  • school profiles - a new digital service which provides information about schools
  • a stronger approach to school improvement through intervention

In parallel, Ofsted is consulting on inspection reform and report cards.

We would encourage respondents to look carefully at both consultations.
