The provisional Settlement consultation ran for 4 weeks from the 17 December 2025 to 14 January 2026. The government received 232 responses which are summarised in the summary of responses document.

Consultation description
We are seeking views on the proposals for the local government finance settlement for 2026 to 2027.
Following the conclusion of this consultation, the final Settlement for 2026 to 2027 will be published and laid before the House of Commons in early 2026.
