Changes to Approved Tachograph Centre approval so centres don't have to offer analogue tachograph calibration, and other rule changes.

This consultation ran from

Consultation description

Approved Tachograph Centres (ATCs) install, calibrate and inspect tachographs, which record information about driving time, speed and distance.

This consultation seeks views on:

  • stopping the requirement for ATCs to offer analogue tachograph calibration
  • allowing smaller sites to be used
  • making changes to streamline the ATC manual

The changes are intended to remove unnecessary burden on centres, so they can improve the service they offer to their customers.
