Detail of outcome

In the housing white paper we set out proposals for tackling the housing shortage in England in 4 chapters. On the 5 March 2018 we published a summary of the consultation responses and the government’s view on the way forward.

Local authority development - effect of planning permission: on the 2 February 2018 we published the government’s response to the proposal (question 5) to allow all local authorities to dispose of land with the benefit of planning permission they have granted themselves
