Fusion energy has the potential to be a transformative source of clean and abundant energy. The development of the UK fusion energy sector will strengthen long-term energy security and deliver significant economic benefits.

Developing a National Policy Statement for fusion energy infrastructure aligns fusion with other energy generating technologies by streamlining and centralising decision-making on planning proposals. We are keen to receive views on whether the draft EN-8 is suitable for all envisioned fusion energy infrastructure and appropriately sets out how planning applications for such infrastructure should be determined.
