Consultation description

This consultation seeks your views on our proposed revisions to the frequency and content of social care inspection official statistics and management information. We are proposing 3 changes to the children’s homes and local authority inspections and outcomes releases:

  1. Changing the period covered by the local authority and children’s homes official statistics from 6 months to 5 months; this is to align it with the period for other remits (types of provider we inspect) and with the period covered by the Ofsted Annual Report.

  2. Removing the interactive tables from the underlying data.

  3. Reducing the frequency of publishing children’s homes management information, from quarterly to biannually; however, quarterly data will still be available in the underlying datasets published alongside official statistics.

The consultation document and questionnaire

The consultation questionnaire is available for you to complete online. It can also be found at the back of the consultation document which is available in 2 formats:

  • the PDF version of the questionnaire can be filled in by hand
  • the Word version of the questionnaire can be filled in by hand or on your computer
