VMD Inspection and Enforcement reports

Reports of inspection and enforcement actions with key messages from inspection and enforcement activities.

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate’s (VMD) Inspections and Enforcement Reports provide a summary of the VMD’s inspection and enforcement activities over a 2-month period.

The bi-monthly reports highlight key regulatory actions taken to ensure the safe and legal supply of veterinary medicines in the UK. The reports include data on enforcement notices, case volumes, online marketplace interventions, and inspection findings across manufacturers, wholesalers, veterinary practices, SQP retailers, and feed businesses.

It also outlines common compliance issues and offers guidance to support industry standards.

Importance of Reporting

We encourage everyone to report any potential breaches of the regulations to us via our online reporting tool available on Report illegal animal medicines - GOV.UK.

We understand that people want to know more about what we do and the action we take. Whilst we can’t follow up to reporters on individual cases, we do act on the reports we receive and investigate the concerns that you have raised.

These regular reports aim to provide some assurance by providing information on the actions we’ve taken.
