The Sport Satellite Account provides figures on the economic value of sport to the UK economy and the number of people employed.

The Sport Satellite Account is based on the broad EU agreed Vilnius definition. DCMS also publishes estimates based on the narrow definition of sport as part of the DCMS Sector Economic Estimates, which allows the contribution of sport to be considered in a way which is consistent with other DCMS sectors. The broad definition used for the Sport Satellite Account is a more comprehensive measure of sport which considers the contribution of sport across a range of industries, for example sport advertising and sport related construction.
