Southport Inquiry
Information about the independent statutory inquiry into the events leading up to the 2024 Southport attack.
On 29 July 2024, a brutal knife attack took place at a children’s dance event in Southport.
Three young girls, Elsie Dot Stancombe, Alice da Silva Aguiar and Bebe King, were murdered, and 10 other people were physically injured – 16 others survived but continue to live with profound psychological injuries.
It is of vital importance that there is a clear understanding of how this was able to happen, and that the lessons identified enable appropriate steps to be taken to minimise the risk of a future tragedy.
The Southport Inquiry has its own website.
