Regional improvement for standards and excellence (RISE): school support
School improvement support available through the RISE programme.
The regional improvement for standards and excellence (RISE) programme aims to break the link between young people’s backgrounds and their future success.
RISE provides support at 2 levels:
- universal support to help all schools improve
- targeted interventions for eligible schools
Universal support
For the universal RISE service, RISE teams will work across all schools to:
- signpost effective practice
- encourage peer-to-peer support
- bring schools together to share knowledge and innovation
RISE teams will cover the following regions:
- RISE school improvement resources: East Midlands
- RISE school improvement resources: East of England
- RISE school improvement resources: London
- RISE school improvement resources: North East
- RISE school improvement resources: North West
- RISE school improvement resources: South East
- RISE school improvement resources: South West
- RISE school improvement resources: West Midlands
- RISE school improvement resources: Yorkshire and the Humber
The RISE universal service will support the 4 national priorities.
Targeted support
This support is tailored to schools facing the greatest challenges.
RISE advisers engage with eligible schools and their responsible body to agree an improvement plan, backed by resources to reduce barriers to improvement.
Schools are supported to improve over 12 to 24 months and are monitored by regular Ofsted inspections.
