At her annual Mansion House speech on 14 July, the Chancellor set out the progress made against the government’s economic strategy and its impact, including tackling cost of living pressures, driving growth across the UK’s nations and regions, and unlocking investment. The Chancellor announced plans to unlock lending and investment across the economy through an ambitious SME lending package, alongside reforms designed to support the UK’s world-leading financial services sector by positioning it at the forefront of innovation, and to ensure that it is supporting all parts of the UK.
