Improving management information

Reports, guidance and information about improving the quality and quantity of management information within government.

The Cabinet Office commissioned Dr Martin Read CBE, former CEO of Logica and a member of the government’s Efficiency and Reform Board, to recommend steps to improve the quality and consistency of management information across government.

According to this report, raising the quality of information available to ministers and civil service leaders will improve decision-making, increase Whitehall efficiency and help deliver savings for the taxpayer.

This series brings together the Read report and the government’s response, which includes a toolkit, a calendar with a timetable for data approvals and common data definitions.
