The annual Hospital Estates and Facilities Statistics are compiled from data supplied by the NHS. A secure online system is used to collect the data - the Estates Returns Information Collection (ERIC). The statistics provide information on a broad spectrum of estates and facilities aspects at hospitals in England including such aspects as;

  • the size and location of hospital buildings
  • the quality of hospital buildings
  • costs of hospital food
  • hospital car parking charges
  • provision of single bedrooms
