As of 2026, this publication now includes statistics on the number of public EV chargers (EVSE) in the United Kingdom. More information about this addition can be found in the publication and the frequently asked questions document.
Data are sourced from the electric vehicle and charging point platform Zapmap.
The data is also available in standard geographical formats from the department’s Transport Statistics Geography Portal. Users of the portal should note that whilst updated regularly, the dataset available may not represent the latest published public charging data.
Latest quarterly electric vehicle charging device grant scheme statistics
Quarterly statistics on the number of grants awarded for the installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the United Kingdom, funded by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV).
The quarterly electric vehicle charging device grant scheme statistics will next be updated on 25 March 2026, covering the period up to 1 January 2026. This release date is one month later than previous quarterly releases to facilitate significant developments to data processing and outputs, including the introduction of EV charger (EVSE) statistics in the electric vehicle public charging infrastructure statistics publication.
As of May 2026, the electric vehicle public charging infrastructure statistics and the electric vehicle charging device grant scheme statistics publication pages will be merged into a single publication page titled: electric vehicle charging infrastructure statistics. All content from both publications will be retained and the page will be updated with new statistics on a quarterly basis.
