Community Assets Programme
The £210 million Community Assets Programme supports local communities to reimagine and revive their struggling high streets. This page includes details on each of the four funds.
The Community Assets Programme is a comprehensive package to reinvent high streets with new shops, public services and community spaces.
This funding complements Hope on the High Street, the government’s new strategy for Britain’s high streets.
The Community Assets Programme includes:
Derelict Buildings Fund: A £125 million investment across 60 local authorities to repurpose eyesore vacant units and restore civic pride.
Regional Cooperative Development Programme: A £10 million programme empowering Strategic Authorities to grow their co-operative economy.
High Street Rental Auctions: A £10 million programme supporting local authorities to accelerate and scale delivery of High Street Rental Auctions.
Community ownership funding: There will be further opportunities to apply for money to support communities to take over buildings, including £65 million through our community ownership funding. Further information will come in early 2027.
