Civil service conduct and guidance

This series brings together all documents relating to civil service conduct and guidance

Guidance for civil servants, departments and their agencies.

The Civil Service Code sets out the framework within which all civil servants work, and the core values and standards of behaviour they are expected to uphold. It forms part of the terms and conditions of employment of every civil servant.

The Civil Service Code is part of the Civil Service Management Code, which sets out the central framework for management of the civil service. Section 4.4 sets out the boundaries of civil servants’ involvement in political activities.

Guidance is also available on principles for participation online and sponsorship and partnership marketing.
