This study was centred on the M6 toll road north of Birmingham which opened in 2004. The study used a large number (35,000) of revealed and stated preference surveys. It derived local parameters from these surveys to build a traffic model for the area.
The study conducted an analysis of travel demand, willingness to pay and toll road utilisation. The study aimed to understand how toll levels influence travel when there is an option between a tolled and non-tolled route.
