The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government publishes guidance called ‘Approved Documents’ on ways to meet building regulations.
general guidance on the performance expected of materials and building work in order to comply with the building regulations
practical examples and solutions on how to achieve compliance for some of the more common building situations
Approved Documents – tell us what you think
MHCLG has asked NBS to carry out important research on our Approved Documents. We want to understand how you use the guidance we prepare and provide to understand the requirements of the building regulations.
We are undertaking this work in response to a recommendation Dame Judith Hackitt has made in her Interim Report of her Review of the Building Regulations and Fire Safety. She has recommended that the government consider how the suite of Approved Documents could be structured and ordered to provide a more streamlined, holistic view while retaining the right level of relevant technical detail.
We would really appreciate you taking the time to fill in our survey to help us understand your needs and improve the system in the future. The closing date is 6 March 2018.
