Apply for a vehicle test or certificate for a lorry or trailer
Use this service to book a test for your lorry or trailer. Do this if:
- you’ve altered its chassis, weight, tyres or brakes (a ‘notifiable alteration’)
- you want to transport dangerous goods (known as ADR)
- it has never had an MOT before
- you want to get it approved for the TIR system for quicker border crossings
You can also apply for:
- a replacement ministry plate or plating certificate
- a replacement ADR certificate for transporting dangerous goods
- a keeper’s certificate to prove you’re responsible for your lorry or trailer
- an abnormal load trailer keeper’s certificate so you can use it abroad
- permission to supply a large goods trailer
Before you start
Before you start, you need to download and fill in a test application form.
