Bird flu: near Wybunbury, Cheshire East, Cheshire (AIV 2025/64)

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed in commercial poultry at a premises near Wybunbury, Cheshire East, Cheshire on 13 October 2025.

Following successful completion of disease control activities and surveillance in the zone around a premises near Wybunbury, Cheshire East, Cheshire (AIV 2025/64), the protection zone has ended and the area that formed it becomes part of the surveillance zone.

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed in commercial poultry at a premises near Wybunbury, Cheshire East, Cheshire on 13 October 2025. This was a commercial flock with more than 10,000 birds.

A 3km protection zone and 10km surveillance zone have been declared around the premises. All poultry on the premises will be humanely culled.

Declarations

This revokes and replaces the declaration of a protection zone and surveillance zone.
