Bird flu: Near Mundford, Breckland, Norfolk (AIV 2026/07)

Low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) H5 was confirmed in poultry near Mundford, Breckland, Norfolk on 15 January 2026. Following further testing this was confirmed as LPAI H5N1 on 17 January 2026.

Following further testing of samples collected at the commercial poultry premises near Mundford, Breckland, Norfolk (AIV 2026/07) confirmed on 15 January 2026, low pathogenic avian Influenza (LPAI) H5N1 has been confirmed.  The declaration has been updated but there are no changes to the measures within the zone.

Low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) H5 was confirmed at a large commercial poultry premises near Mundford, Breckland, Norfolk (AIV 2026/07) on 15 January 2026.

A 1km Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza Restricted Zone has been declared around the premises. All poultry on the premises will be humanely culled.

This amended declaration revokes and replaces the declaration of a Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza Restricted Zone (PDF).
