Bird flu: near Glyn Ceiriog, Wrexham (AIV 2025/49)

Following successful completion of disease control activities and surveillance in the zone around a premises in Wales near Glyn Ceiriog, Wrexham (AIV 2025/49), the Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) for Wales has declared that the protection zone has ended and the area that formed it becomes part of the surveillance zone.
Part of the 10km surveillance zone extends into England. The declaration for the surveillance zone in England has been amended to reflect the ending of the protection zone in Wales.

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed in commercial poultry at a premises in Wales near Glyn Ceiriog, Wrexham (AIV 2025/49).
A 3km protection zone and 10km surveillance zone have been declared around the premises. All poultry on the premises have been humanely culled.
Part of the 10km surveillance zone extends into England.
