Bird flu: near Clacton on Sea, Tendring, Essex (2022/73)

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed in chickens on 18 September 2022.

14 December: Following successful completion of disease control activity and surveillance in the zones, the 3km protection zone has ended and the 10km surveillance zone has been revoked.

Affected birds have been humanely culled.
