This document is for individuals and voluntary groups who want to get involved in helping to support people in their local communities who are affected by severe weather conditions.

This guidance challenges common misconceptions that often prevent people from volunteering (eg health and safety laws). It also contains useful resources and guidelines for those who want to volunteer.
